The 2025 Honda Prologue has been updated with a new front power unit, resulting in improved power and extended range. This all-electric SUV, which ranked as the second best-selling EV SUV in the United States during the latter half of 2024, now features a top EPA range rating of 308 miles, an increase of 12 miles compared to the previous model year.
The Prologue is available in three well-equipped trim levels: EX, Touring, and Elite. The starting price for the Prologue EX is set at $47,400, excluding a destination charge of $1,450. All versions of the 2025 Prologue qualify for the federal EV tax credit of $7,500.
According to Jessika Laudermilk, assistant vice president of Honda National Auto Sales, the Prologue’s success can be attributed to consumer trust in the Honda brand. She stated, “When the Honda Prologue quickly soared to the top of the EV sales charts as one of the best-selling EVs in America, it was incredibly reassuring to hear buyers tell us the number one reason for their purchase was their trust for the Honda brand.” The 2025 model aims to enhance its appeal with increased driving range and power.
The single motor two-wheel drive versions of the Prologue now offer 220 horsepower and 243 lb.-ft. of torque, which is an increase of 8 horsepower and 7 lb.-ft. of torque from the previous model. All-wheel drive versions also see improvements, with the EX and Touring trims achieving a range of 294 miles and the Elite trim reaching 283 miles. The power output for all-wheel drive models has been raised to 300 horsepower and 355 lb.-ft. of torque.
Recharging the Prologue is facilitated by DC fast charging capabilities of up to 150 kW, allowing for approximately 65 miles of range to be added in about 10 minutes. By 2030, Honda plans to provide its EV owners with access to around 100,000 DC fast-charge points across North America, including the new IONNA network and existing Tesla Superchargers, EVgo, and Electrify America networks.
The Prologue includes a range of standard features, such as 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels, Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a wireless phone charger, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Honda is also offering comprehensive charging solutions for Prologue customers, which include various charging packages that can be selected upon purchase or lease. These packages provide options for public charging credits, charging equipment, and installation support. The HondaLink Smartphone App will assist Prologue owners in locating charging stations, managing payments, and redeeming credits at charging locations.
Overall, the 2025 Honda Prologue presents enhancements in range and power, alongside a robust set of features aimed at improving the electric vehicle experience for consumers.
