Mercedes-AMG has recently unveiled a new entry-level version of its electric GT 4-Door Coupé, which combines sports-car performance with a driving range of nearly 500 miles. Powered by two electric motors, the novel Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4-Door Coupé can produce up to 400 kW (544 hp) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. It can also accelerate from zero to 62 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds using a one-foot rollout. The vehicle is equipped with an 800-volt battery with a 106-kilowatt-hour (kWh) capacity. It can cover more than 497 miles (800 kilometers) under the WLTP cycle and accept up to 600 kW of DC charging. That is reportedly enough to add more than 332 miles (534 kilometers) of WLTP range in just 10 minutes. According to Mercedes-Benz, the GT 53 also has active aerodynamics, all-wheel drive, as well as adaptive suspension with an unusual feature for an EV: a digitally recreated AMG six-cylinder experience.
