Chery has officially entered the mid-to-large plug-in hybrid (PHEV) sedan market. The newly launched Fulwin A9L is drawing major attention with its high-tech features and upscale interior, already generating a large volume of orders.
The model is available in four trims, with prices ranging from 149,900 CNY (approximately 20,900 USD) to approximately 207,900 CNY (approx. 29,100 USD).
Consumer response was explosive. According to released data, the vehicle received 35,680 confirmed orders within the first hour of launch.
The Fulwin A9L is a mid-to-large sedan measuring 5,018 mm in length, 1,965 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase that provides generous interior space.
Buyers can choose from six exterior colors—green, gray, red, silver, purple, and black—catering to a wide range of preferences.
A notable feature is the standard inclusion of Chery's advanced driving assistance system, Falcon 500.
The system incorporates a total of 27 sensors: one roof-mounted LiDAR, three millimeter-wave radars, eleven high-resolution cameras, and twelve ultrasonic sensors. These enable highway driving assistance and automated parking. The emergency braking system can be activated at speeds of up to 130 km/h.
The powertrain is based on Chery's Kunpeng Hybrid System C-DM 6.0, which combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, an electric motor, a 33.67 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, and a DHT Pro transmission. The engine delivers a maximum output of 115 kW (154 hp) and peak torque of 220 Nm.
Buyers can choose between front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) variants. The FWD model features a front motor producing 160 kW (215 hp) and 310 Nm of torque, with an electric-only range of 260 km and a combined range of up to 2,000 km.
The AWD version features a rear motor, resulting in a total system output of 195 kW (261 hp) and 324 Nm of torque. This configuration offers an electric range of 200 km and a combined range of 1,600 km.
The driver's seat is equipped with a double-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel. The dashboard includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch floating center display.
The system operates on Chery's Lingxi Smart Cabin 2.0, which is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 chip.
Seating is available in either four- or five-passenger configurations. The four-seat version features a luxury rear center console, enabling backseat passengers to control various functions, including seat adjustments. Ventilation, heating, and massage functions are also available.
Other premium features that come standard across all trims include 256-color ambient lighting, nine airbags, automatic climate control, an AI-based voice assistant, and smartphone connectivity for remote control.
The Fulwin A9L is being recognized as a strategic sedan that showcases Chery's latest technology, practicality, and premium design, signaling a strong presence in the growing mid-to-large PHEV market.
