CHEVROLET'S ALL NEW COLORADO RETURNS WITH PREMIUM OFF-ROAD PERFORMANCE

NAMYANGJU, Gyeonggi Province — Chevrolet's brand-new Colorado pickup truck has arrived in Korea, featuring enhanced off-road performance and a host of state-of-the-art safety features.

The Colorado is Chevrolet’s flagship premium mid-size truck, favored primarily by camping and off-road driving enthusiasts.

The third-generation All New Colorado aims to attract discerning Korean customers with its versatility for both city and off-road driving. Its predecessor, launched in 2019, saw moderate success, with accumulated sales exceeding 14,800 units by the end of August this year.

GM Korea hopes to continue its winning streak with the new model by equipping it with a range of cutting-edge, safety-focused infotainment features. The carmaker believes these innovations will enable more drivers to enjoy powerful and robust driving, even in challenging and rocky terrain across the nation.

When this reporter test-drove the vehicle in a mountainous camping area, it showed itself to be a highly reliable off-road vehicle, perfect for those who enjoy navigating unpaved roads.

The vehicle dispelled this reporter’s preconceptions about pickup trucks lacking smart driving features. Its smart features were somewhat distinct from those typically found in sedans or SUVs designed for city driving.

One noteworthy feature was its underbody camera, which displays the road conditions around the tires. This allows drivers to monitor obstacles in advance and assess the roughness of the terrain.

When the vehicle’s much-touted Hill Descent Control was engaged on downhill roads, it assisted in maintaining a consistent speed while navigating unpaved and rocky terrain.

The All New Colorado also features an upgraded powertrain, delivering a maximum output of 314.3 horsepower. This enhancement provides a more dynamic driving experience on paved roads.

Another key upside of the new vehicle is its bigger exterior compared to its predecessor. It made a strong impression at first glance, with its exterior design becoming more masculine and refined. The vehicle's straight lines and rectangular shapes highlight its bold identity.

The newest Colorado received a stronger-than-expected initial response, with all 400 pre-reserved models selling out in just one day in July.

However, the price remains a significant drawback for the vehicle. It is priced at 72.79 million won ($54,600) in Korea, which is more than 20 million won higher than the previous model.
