Not only do they get to see thousands of unique cars and trucks, but they also get to enjoy the talents of a Susquehanna Valley man.

Jim Landis is a rock star, but his stage is not at a concert venue. It's on the auction block.

Landis has been chanting for as long as he can remember.

While he said auctions are in his blood, he still gets nervous every morning before he starts.

"Just because I want everything to be right. For the most part, once I take the microphone and get in my space, no, I'm not nervous anymore because this is what I do, and what I do is sell cars," he said.

He's sold a lot of them.

Jimmy, as he's known in the auction world, is a fixture across the Susquehanna Valley.

He's also made a name for himself around the country as the lead auctioneer for Mecum collector car auctions.

"A lot of the people that come to Mecum are passionate bidders. They're buying something to remember their past," he said.

The auction team visits about a dozen cities each year, with thousands of different vehicles up for grabs.

It's Landis' job to raise the excitement – and the bid.

"This January in Kissimmee, I sold a Ferrari for $16.25 million. That was my highest-priced vehicle. Not to say that it was my favorite vehicle I sold, but that was definitely a highlight of my career," he said.

No matter the price, he said, "My favorite part: saying sold."
