10. 2019 Lexus RC

  • Average Used Car Price: $26,691

While TrueCar thinks the newest Lexus RS “may not claim the title of the fastest or most agile car in its class,” Kelley Blue Book (KBB) recommends picking up a five-year-old model, which is “a rock-solid luxury car with the comfort and features to handle daily life as well as weekend fun runs.” Lexus is one of the most reliable brands and great for drivers of all ages. KBB prices a 2019 base model at just over $26,000.

9. 2024 BMW 2 Series

  • MSRP: $38,400

With most cars getting bigger over the years, the 2 Series remains a nice compact car that is popular with driving enthusiasts. The 2 Series is a good option for retires because of its reliability, value and ease of driving. Its one of the smallest luxury cars on the market, making it a nimble handler with quick acceleration.

8. 2017 Jaguar F-Type

  • Average Used Car Price: $25,566

The 2017 Jaguar F-Type boasts an impressive 340 horsepower supercharged V6, RWD or AWD, unique styling and an opulent interior. Persistent buyers might be able to find a 550 hp V8-powered F-Type R for under $40,000, but the regular F-Type should provide a bit of well-built zip, and a bit of British class, for discerning retirees.

7. 2024 Lexus IS

  • MSRP: $40,085

While the Lexus IS starting price is just a hair over $40K, hopefully you can wrangle a discount when dealerships start stocking the 2025 model this month or next. J.D. Power gives the IS a customer verified score of 88 out of 100, making it the #1 compact “premium” car available. For retirees, the price is a bit of a turn off, but the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 — with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, automatic high-beams, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert — comes standard.

6. 2021 Infiniti Q60

  • Average Used Car Price: $29,431-$38,989

A used Infiniti Q60 is a fantastic choice for any retiree looking for a stylish, entertaining two-door car with contemporary technology and security features. Advanced driver assistance is available, and smartphone integration is standard on the 2021 Q60, but as KBB suggests, the Q60 Luxe variant, which comes equipped with cutting-edge driver assistance features including automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, can’t be beat. 2021 trims — the Pure Coupe 2D, the Luxe Coupe 2D and the Red Sport 400 Coupe 2D — should all cost less than $40,000, per KBB.

5. 2024 Audi A3

  • MSRP: $35,800

What the A3 lacks in rear passenger and cargo space, it makes up for in advanced tech, comfort and stylish performance, says Edmunds. Audi kept this third generation A3 unchanged for 2024, but this small sedan still has a luxurious interior and is an easy-to-maneuver, powerful ride that is easy on the wallet.

4. 2013 Porsche Boxster

  • Average Used Car Price: $33,998-$45,990

A Porsche for under $40,000? Yes, you can own an iconic Boxster if you’re willing to take a chance on a decade-old car. Perfect for warm weather retirees, the redesigned-in-2013 Boxster is “one of the most fun-to-drive cars you can buy,” according to Kelley Blue Book. Depending on the option package picked by the original owner, prices can vary widely for this model, but for the most part, a quick search for a 2013 Boxster near you should yield some available between $30,000 and $40,000.

3. 2024 Cadillac CT4

  • MSRP: $34,595

For decades, the Cadillac name, with its DeVille and Fleetwood models, was synonymous with prestige and wealth. Now, the brand is still associated with luxury, but its models range from the popular and pricey Escalade to the affordable CT4 sedan, which comes with senior-friendly safety features like lane departure warning, backup camera, navigation system and rear cross traffic alert. The CT4 is one of the most affordable luxury sports cars on the market and perfect for the retiree who looking for luxury and value.

1. 2024 Acura Integra

  • MSRP: $31,800

You can get better features and performance from its competitors, but no one can match the Integra on price.
