SELECT FORD F-150S GET A 700-HP PERFORMANCE KIT STRAIGHT FROM FORD

Fast trucks are hot these days. Let’s be honest; fast trucks have never not been hot. From 1920s rat roads to the original Ford Lightning, people like trucks that go fast. Ford knows this desire better than most and has routinely provided us with fast trucks for years. Not Ford is offering a 700-hp performance kit straight from the factory but only for trucks with the 5.0-liter V8

2023 Ford F-150 factory performance kit

Ford calls this performance pack the FP700, and it can be fitted to Ford F-150 models with the 5.0-liter V8 made from 2021-2023. The pact gives the Ford F-150 700 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque thanks to the Whipple supercharger. While the year range and motor options are pretty limiting, Ford can put the package on any cab style, meaning you can get 700 hp on a truck with a crew cab.

The Drive notes that Ford won’t install the kit on any trucks with an 8-ft bed or the ProPower Onboard mobile inverter. However, the FP700 kit can still get added to the XL, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum trims.

There are multiple versions of the Ford performance kit

While the performance details don’t change, Ford does offer the package in two different versions; the Bronze Edition and the Black Edition. These are aptly named due to the color schemes they feature. Both versions come with the Whipple blower, a rear lowering kit, 22- by 9.5-inch wheels, painted lettering on the tailgate, special floor mats, and a black grille.

The coolest part about the Ford FP700 kit is that dealers can add a bunch of other extras to it, like a tuned exhaust with a side exit and a tailgate spoiler.

This feels like the old Ford Lightning

The Drive marks mention of the pre-electric Ford Lightning and how this FP700 F-150 feels like what the new Ford Lightning should have been. This is a common take. It makes sense. A 700-hp truck not made for jumping dunes conjures only a few pickup truck models to memory. Without going down the rabbit hole of obscure supertrucks, the Ford Lightning is an easy jump to make.

Other than electric trucks, there’s really not much to compare to the Ford F-150 FP700. The days of the road trucks like the Ford F-150 Saleen have made way for the off-road-focused trucks like the Ram TRX or the Ford F-150 Raptor. Ford bringing the fast road truck back is pretty cool.

How much does the Ford FP700 kit cost?

For the cost of the pickup truck and $12,350, you can have a 700-hp Ford F-150. The best thing about this monster performance kit is that it is from the factory, so you still get a 3-year/ 36,000-mile warranty.
