HERE ARE 10 TOP STATION WAGONS FOR 2024-25

If you’re in the market for a new wagon, you’re increasingly in rare company. While there’s no denying the utility, efficiency, comfort, or style of a good station wagon, the bigger-is-better mentality has seen SUVs rise in their place in overall popularity. But for those in the know, there are still 10 excellent station wagons available to buy new. Some models are high-performance sports wagons, others are surprisingly capable off-road, and many span some breadth of capability in between. Whatever kind of wagon you’re looking for, it’s on this list.

Here are 10 of the best new wagons you’ll find in 2024-2025.

1. 2024 Audi A4 allroad

Starting price: $48,695 ($47,600 + $1,095 destination)

Classy, stylish, and yet surprisingly affordable, the 2024 Audi A4 allroad blends luxury and practicality with a starting price below $50,000. Quattro all-wheel drive is standard, as is a 261-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter engine capable of accelerating to 60 mph in a claimed 5.5 seconds.

2. 2024 Audi A6 allroad

Starting price: $70,395 ($69,300 + $1,095 destination)

Larger, more powerful, and more luxurious than the A4 allroad, the 2024 Audi A6 allroad is also more expensive, but it justifies that expense with lots of equipment— like a standard Bang & Olufsen surround sound system — as well as a 335-horsepower turbocharged V6 mild-hybrid powertrain.

3. 2024 Audi RS 6 Avant

Starting price: $126,895 ($125,800 + $1,095 destination)

The A4 and A6 allroad are impressive models, to be sure, but for the ultimate in Audi wagon performance and style, the 2024 Audi RS 6 Avant combines supercar power and performance with daily driver utility. How much power? A full 621 horsepower from a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, enabling 3.3-second 0-60 mph runs and a top speed limited to 155 mph. Joining the lineup for 2025 is the RS 6 Avant GT, which gets a host of carbon fiber body parts, a double rear wing spoiler, a unique interior, and your choice of Nardo Gray, Mythos Black, or a livery package inspired by the late 1980s IMSA GT race car, the Audi 90 GTO. The RS 6 GT will be limited to a run of just 660 units.

4. 2025 BMW M5 Touring

While full specs and details haven’t emerged just yet, the 2025 BMW M5 Touring has been confirmed for U.S. sale, and given the capability of the M5 sedan and past M5 Touring models, it should give the RS 6 Avant a serious run for its money in terms of performance and power, and may even exceed its handling ability. Look for full details later this year.

5. 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain Wagon

Starting price: $72,400 ($71,250 + $1,150 destination)

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon is an institution in the luxury wagon space going back decades, but the latest model is a little different from models past, with the All-Terrain model the primary spec for the U.S. market. A high-performance AMG model is expected to arrive eventually, too, but for now, the E450 All-Terrain and its 375-horsepower mild-hybrid drivetrain with standard AWD is the only model confirmed.

6. 2024 Mini Clubman

Starting price: $33,645 ($32,650 + $995 destination)

Pour out the last drop for the 2024 Mini Clubman, as it is being retired after this model year. The small but spacious Mini wagon is as fun to drive and stylish as ever, but it has lost too much ground to the Countryman. In the meantime, there are still Cooper S and John Cooper Works models available for purchase this year, offering up to 301 horsepower yet achieving more than 30 mpg highway in every trim.

7. 2024 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo

Starting price: $113,095 ($111,100 + $1,995 destination)

Our only all-electric wagon offering, the 2024 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is as seductively styled as it is potent. With a minimum of 375 horsepower (Taycan 4 Cross Turismo) and a maximum of 616 horsepower — 750 horsepower in launch control mode with Overboost — in the top-spec Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo, this is the electric wagon for those with a hunger for speed as well as luxury.

8. 2024 Subaru Outback

Starting price: $30,240 ($28,895 + $1,345 destination)

Stepping back from the insanely powerful and luxurious realm into what most of us experience as reality, the 2024 Subaru Outback is another excellent wagon choice, one that offers a lot of SUV-negating ability. From its standard AWD to its up to 9.5 inches of ground clearance, the Outback is the wagon lover’s best response to the SUV onslaught.

9. 2024 Volvo V60

Starting price: $51,695 ($50,500 + $1,195 destination)

Elegant style with a sporty edge gives the 2024 Volvo V60 a lot of curb appeal, whether you choose the slightly more rugged looks of the V60 Cross Country or the sportier style of the V60 Polestar Engineered. Opt for the latter, and you’ll upgrade from the base model’s 247 horsepower to a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain good for 455 horsepower, 41 miles of all-electric range, and 31 mpg combined in hybrid mode.

10. 2024 Volvo V90 Cross Country

Starting price: $61,195 ($60,000 + $1,195 destination)

The larger sibling to the V60, the 2024 Volvo V90 is only offered in Cross Country form, ruggedized for gravel road use and bad-weather ability, with 7.9 inches of ground clearance and 3,500 pounds of towing capacity. All-wheel drive is standard, as is a 295-horsepower mild-hybrid powertrain. If you’re looking for a refined, do-it-all luxury wagon that won’t break the bank, this may be your answer.
