2025 AUDI A3 REVEALED WITH UPDATED STYLING, NEW TECH, AND NEW CROSSOVER BODY STYLE

Audi has officially unveiled a comprehensive mid-cycle update for the A3 lineup. Main highlights include a more progressive and dynamic exterior design, significantly upgraded interior appointments, expanded digital capabilities, and the addition of a new crossover model called the A3 Allstreet.

For now, Audi has only revealed pricing and some specifications for the Euro-Spec A3 and A3 Allstreet, though, given the usual delay between Euro and U.S. launch, we should see more information regarding the U.S.-spec 2025 A3 before the end of Fall 2024.

The A3’s New Exterior Look

On the outside, the A3 Sportback and Sedan models adopt Audi's latest Singleframe grille that is wider and flatter, along with sharper lines and sculpted surfaces inspired by the brand's RS performance models when equipped with the S line exterior package. There are even new metallic color options, like District Green and Progressive Red, the latter of which just might be a modern-day take on “pull-me-over-red.”

The distinctive LED headlights can now display up to four selectable daytime running light signatures, which can be changed with the press of a button through the MMI infotainment system. Minor changes to the rear end bring a fresh look, while not straying too far from the design launched in 2020.

The A3 Allstreet: An A3 With Crossover Ambitions

The most interesting takeaway is the introduction of the new A3 Allstreet, which is – essentially – a raised A3 hatchback, though it’s being considered a crossover. The ground clearance has been raised by 3 CM or about 1.18 inches, 15 mm of which comes from the new model-specific springs and shock absorbers. According to Stephan Fahr-Becker, Team Leader of exterior design at Audi AG, “The Audi A3 Allstreet stands out from the rest of the A3 family from the very first impression."

“As a crossover in the premium compact class, it has a completely unique look. The aim was to use specific design elements to emphasize the vehicle’s higher ground clearance even more clearly.”

The rest of the Allstreet’s exterior is differentiated by a number of fresh or unique elements:

  • Flared wheel arches
  • Underbody protection elements
  • New octagonal grille
  • 17-inch standard wheels
  • 18- and 19-inch wheels available as a paid option

On the Inside, the A3 Allstreet features an elevated seat height that Audi claims will make ingress and egress easy while at the same time offering a “better command of the road.” Beyond this, the rest of the interior is largely the same, including upgraded materials like laser-cut illuminated fabric accents on the door panels and sustainable microfiber inlays.

In the rear, the A3 Allstreet, despite being billed as a crossover, features the same cargo capacity as the A3 Sportback at 380 liters in normal configuration or 1,200 liters with the rear seats folded.

A3 Allstreet Options

  • Electric tailgate
  • Removable tow hitch
  • Storage and trunk package (includes nets for the front seat backs and a net for the rear cargo area)

Overall, the A3 Allstreet is essentially a raised A3 Sportback that’s tailored to look more like it belongs in the Q lineup than the A lineup. This isn’t a bad thing, and it really screams Allroad to us.

2025 Audi A3 Interior Design

On the inside, the most important bits are, arguably, the laser-cut illuminated fabric accents on the door panels and sustainable microfiber inlays. However, the redesigned shift lever and revised center console are also worth mentioning.

New Standard Features

  • 10.1-inch touchscreen
  • Audi's Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster
  • Wireless phone charging
  • 3-spoke leather steering wheel
  • Revised ambient lighting
  • 3D sound from Sonos sound system

On the tech front, greater personalization is enabled through Audi's new integrated app store that gives you the ability to install third-party apps and services to the vehicle's infotainment system. Functions on Demand makes updating or upgrading a breeze with the ability to enable options like navigation, smartphone mirroring, and driver assistance features at any time after purchase – essentially allowing you to change your mind later, should you have regrets about not marking a certain option box.

Advanced driver aids like adaptive cruise assist with assisted lane change, park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and Audi's pre sense front safety suite come standard or optional depending on the model.

European Specs Only…For Now

The refreshed 2025 Audi will launch on the European market with the choice of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine or a 2.0-liter diesel engine. Both engines are said to be good for 150 horsepower, though the diesel engine should have a bit of extra torque. No specs outside of this have been revealed for the time being, however, both engines will be paired with a seven-speed DCT and a plug-in hybrid should join the lineup before the end of 2024.

There’s no word on U.S. availability for the 2025 Audi A3 or A3 Allstreet just yet, but the order books for Europe open this month. On that side of the world, the A3 Sportback starts at €35,650 in Germany, while the new A3 Allstreet commands a bit more at €37,450. Audi has yet to disclose exactly when the A3 will start arriving in dealerships, but has said it will happen “in the coming months.”
